SPOT(s) Magazine
Following on from the disaster that devastated the northeastern coastline of Japan in 2011, the question of how to revitalise the region was on many minds. A client reached out to me looking to start their own magazine, showcasing local artisans, eateries and other interesting spots. The idea behind the magazine was to imagine the Tohoku region as the map of a role-playing game, which readers would uncover as they flick through its pages.
I was asked to craft a logo illustrating this idea and we went through several iterations of their chosen logo before settling on the one you see here. Read the full magazine (Japanese and English).
